Head Coach
Six-time BIG EAST Coach of the Year (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023, 2025) and 2024-25 GCAA Midwest Region Coach of the Year Steve Bailey enters his 16th season as the head men's golf coach at Marquette University in 2025-26. A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia and previously a member of the coaching staff at Northwestern, Bailey has elevated the Marquette program with championship results, quality recruiting, academic excellence, facility upgrades, key fundraising, and a push to host events at Wisconsin's finest golf courses. Bailey leads MU into to the 2025-26 season as a program having achieved numerous milestones: five BIG EAST team titles (2015, 2017, 2019, 2023, 2025), five individual BIG EAST medalists, a national top-25 ranking for the first time in 2017-18, and program-best top-50 national end-of-season rankings in 2018-19 and 2024-25. The 2024-25 season was one for the record books as the Golden Eagles shattered the program's scoring average record with a 283.67 mark, -1.27 strokes to par per round, and won five team events, including MU's sixth BIG EAST crown at Callawassie Island. Led by BIG EAST Player of the Year Patrick Adler, fellow All-BIG EAST First Team selections Max Lyons and Johan Widal and league freshman of the year Vincent Cervantes, a second team selection, MU placed eighth in the NCAA Urbana Regional. Assistant Coach
Four-time PING All-American Jordan Niebrugge is in his second season as assistant coach with the Marquette University men’s golf program in 2025-26. Niebrugge helped the Golden Eagles to a record-setting campaign during his first season on staff in 2024-25 as Marquette won five team titles, including the program's sixth BIG EAST Championship and finished eighth at the NCAA Urbana Regional. For his efforts, Niebrugge was recognized alongside head coach Steve Bailey and fellow assistant Josh Robinson as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year. “We are very excited Jordan and his wife Molly have decided to join our team,” Bailey said at the time of Niebrugge's addition to the staff in the summer of 2024. “Jordan’s talent and experiences at the highest level, will be a tremendous asset to Marquette Golf. While he is well known for his elite golf resume, our players will also benefit from the positive values he exemplifies.” During his NCAA career at Oklahoma State, Niebrugge (pronounced NEE-brew-ghee) competed on a pair of USA Walker Cup teams (2013 and 2015) and earned the silver medal at the Old Course at St. Andrew’s in the 2015 Open Championship as the event’s low amateur. His 11-under 277 at St. Andrew’s broke Bobby Jones’ record for lowest score by an amateur and placed him in a tie for sixth, just four strokes behind event champion Zach Johnson.
