Assistant Coach
Marquette University women’s lacrosse head coach Meredith Black announced Chrissy Thomas as assistant coach for the program on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. “We are very excited to welcome Chrissy to the Marquette women’s lacrosse family,” Black said. “Her successful playing experience at Maryland and her high lacrosse IQ will translate directly to coaching. I’m confident she’ll elevate our offensive unit and help our student-athletes grow both on and off the field.” Thomas comes to Milwaukee after graduating from Maryland in the spring of 2025. Thomas played four seasons for the Terps, playing in 67 games with 25 starts. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Marquette women’s lacrosse family,” Thomas said. “I look forward to learning from Meredith and Annie, connecting with the team, and helping the team reach its goals on and off the field.” The Riverhead, New York native finished her career with 156 points (58g, 98a) and was named to the 2023 All-Big Ten Tournament team.

Assistant Coach
Devon Ortman is in her first season as student assistant coach at Marquette. Ortman came to Marquette after playing three seasons at Colorado College (2022-24) and one at Fresno State (2021). The Oakland, California native started in 56-of-57 games at Colorado College where she was a 2024 IWLCA Third-Team All-American. She was named First Team All-WIAC and selected to IWLCA All-West Region First Team her last two seasons. Ortman tallied 278 draw controls, 124 ground balls, 56 goals, 66 assists and 39 caused turnovers in three seasons at Colorado College. She played for Team Germany at the Super Sixes event in Hong Kong in December of 2023.

As the academic counselor for the women's basketball, men's soccer, and women's lacrosse team, Meaghan assists student-athletes throughout their academic careers. Meaghan returns to Marquette after working at the University of Maryland, serving as the academic counselor and learning specialist for the Terps Football team. She has her M.S. in Leadership and Policy Studies concentrating in student personnel from the University of Memphis.
