No other coach has embodied and embraced the sport of soccer at Middle Tennessee like 24-year mentor Aston Rhoden. During his tenure with the Blue Raiders, which started in 2002, he has lifted the program to new heights on and off the field, while exhibiting his core team ideals of Pride. Passion. Purpose. In his 24th season in Murfreesboro, Rhoden led the Blue Raiders to an the Blue Raiders achieve an 11-6-3 overall record and secure a spot in the CUSA Tournament, where they made it to the semifinals thanks to a golden goal from Hannah Murphy during the overtime win against FIU in the quarterfinals. In conference play, Middle Tennessee finished with a record of 5-2-1 in 2025, with victories against Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, Kennesaw State, FIU, and UTEP. Six players from the Blue Raiders received Conference USA All-Conference Honors, including senior forward Emma Pettersen, who made the First Team All-Conference. Graduate defender Emma Brown earned Second Team honors and was also on the All-Academic Team. Junior defender Sadie Sterbenz and senior forward Idun Kvaale were named to the Third Team, while freshmen Alli Craig and Scottie Newton were recognized on the All-Freshman Team. Ndaira joined the Blue Raiders' staff after serving as Associate Head Coach at Lipscomb during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. In the 2025 season, Ndaira really played a crucial role in helping Lipscomb achieve a record of 15 wins, 6 losses, and 2 draws. With the goalkeeping unit, Ndaira notched up 12 shutouts. Some notable victories included a 2-0 win against Queens in the first round, a 1-0 overtime win against Jacksonville University, and a 3-0 win in the ASUN Championship, which meant the Bisons clinched the ASUN Championship for the second year in a row. In the first round of the NCAA tournament, they managed to beat sixth-seed Mississippi State 1-0 in Starkville. Unfortunately, Lipscomb's run came to an end in the second round when they were knocked out by Florida State, the national champion and third overall seed. In his first season with the Bisons back in 2024, Ndaira helped the team to a record of 14 wins, 4 losses, and 4 draws, winning the ASUN Championship for the fourth time in the school's history, which got them into the NCAA tournament. They faced eighth-seed Vanderbilt but ended up losing. During that season, Ndaira led the goalkeeping team to 11 shutouts, including two in the ASUN tournament, with standout wins such as a 7-0 victory against Central Arkansas in the semifinals and a 1-0 win over Eastern Kentucky in the final.
