NC State's McMurray Family Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan has announced that former NC State captain Justin Gainey will return to Raleigh as the new head coach of the NC State men's basketball program. "I am honored to announce Justin Gainey as our new head coach for the NC State men's basketball program," said Corrigan. The 2025-26 season marked Medland’s fourth season with the NC State men’s basketball program as assistant director of creative brand management. In his role, Medland leads the creative video storytelling efforts for the men’s basketball program, focusing on showcasing the stories of student-athletes and staff for social media, GoPack.com and recruiting initiatives. He directs, shoots and edits all video content for the program, including features, recaps, highlights and other creative productions. Medland joined NC State in September 2022 after serving as Director of Creative Content at Monmouth for one year. At Monmouth, he produced all video content for in-venue video boards, social media and recruiting across the department’s 24 athletic programs, while traveling with the flagship sports of football and men’s and women’s basketball. Prior to Monmouth, Medland worked at Centre College as an Athletics Communications Assistant from February 2021 to October 2021. There, he managed creative video production and live broadcasts for 24 Division III sports, assisted in managing social media accounts, maintained the website’s multimedia archive and contributed to strategic and logistical planning for the IWAE Project, a $50 million on-campus construction initiative. Medland graduated from Temple University in 2020 with a degree in journalism. Medland and his wife, Jamie, reside in Raleigh.

Chris Zupko is in his first season as director of on-campus recruiting and business manager and his sixth season overall with the Pack. He spent his first four seasons at NC State as assistant director of basketball operations and was the director of operations during the 2024-25 season. Zupko came to NC State from Drexel where he spent four seasons as coordinator of basketball operations. Prior to joining Drexel's staff, Zupko worked for the Hoop Group in Neptune, N.J. since 2006 where he spent nine years as the director of Hoop Group Skills Camp as well as a year as the assistant director of Hoop Group Elite Basketball Camp. In this position, Zupko helped grow the camp to 1975 campers with notable alumni including Karl Anthony-Towns, Kyrie Irving and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Before he moved to the Hoop Group, Zupko spent six seasons as an assistant basketball coach at Hargrave Military Academy, including four seasons as an assistant for Kevin Keatts. He was a member of the Hargrave staff when the team won the national championship in 2004. There helped send 58 players to Division I, while six would go on to play in the NBA, including Joe Alexander, the No. 8 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. Zupko also helped to produce two McDonald's All-Americans. At Hargrave, Zupko also served as the head coach of the varsity lacrosse team. Craig Hammel joined NC State in July 2016 and serves as the Assistant Athletics Director of Athletics Communications. In his current role, he is the primary communications contact for the Wolfpack men’s basketball and men’s golf programs. Prior to joining NC State, Hammel spent five years on staff at the Horizon League, rising to the title of Senior Director of Communications and Scheduling. He served as the conference lead for the sports information directors committee and scheduling committee, while also handling the day-to-day communications efforts for multiple sports, including men’s basketball. In addition, he served as the Assistant Media Coordinator for the 2015 Men’s Final Four and was the Media Coordinator for the 2016 Women’s Final Four. Hammel spent two years on the public relations staff with the Indianapolis Colts for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He helped edit the weekly game notes packets, wrote stories for the official team website and provided gameday staffing, including Super Bowl XLIV. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Hammel graduated from the University of Tennessee. He worked in the sports information department while at UT, handling day-to-day media responsibilities for the men’s tennis team while also assisting with the men’s basketball and football programs. The 2025-26 season marked Hart’s ninth season with the NC State men’s basketball program and his seventh in his role as assistant director of creative media. Hart oversees the creative direction of all social and recruiting materials for the men’s basketball program, serving as the program’s lead graphic designer. He also acts as the team’s primary photographer and manages the program’s social media channels. Hart first joined the program prior to the 2017–18 season as a student manager and spent two years in that role. A native of Concord, N.C., Hart graduated from NC State in 2019 with a degree in sport management. Hart and his wife, Miranda, Ph.D., have a one-year-old daughter, Lily.

The 2025-26 season marks Stacy's first as assistant general manager at NC State. Stacy joins the Pack after serving as the general manager for the Wyoming men's basketball program last season. With the Cowboys, Stacy focused on analytics in both scouting and recruiting. A native of Illinois, Stacy is the founder of Jam Basketball Intelligence, a company that constructs pre-game scouting reporters identifying strengths, weaknesses and tendencies of opponents in college basketball. Stacy was named 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in College Basketball by Seth Davis in 2021. Stacy also spent time with the Chicago White Sox serving as a Baseball Operations Associate and spent time in the financial world as a financial analyst. He is a graduate of Loyola-Chicago graduating in 2017 and was an analytic manager on the Ramblers 2018 Final Four team.

The 2025-26 basketball season marked Hutchinson’s first year as equipment manager for the NC State men’s basketball program and his 15th overall with the NC State athletic department. In his role, Hutchinson oversees the ordering and distribution of all adidas apparel and equipment for the team, coaches and staff. He manages the maintenance and organization of all on-court equipment, oversees team laundry operations and ensures players and coaches are fully equipped for all practices and games. Prior to arriving at NC State, Hutchinson gained experience at the University of North Carolina, working with Olympic sports and the men’s basketball program, and at East Carolina, where he supported football and various Olympic sports programs. A graduate of Marshall University, Hutchinson worked with the football program as a student manager before earning his degree in general education in 2001.
