Michael Porter joined the TCU cross country and track and field programs as an assistant coach in 2025. He coaches distance student-athletes. In his first season with the Frogs, he guided junior Johnson Lagat to the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championship Meet become the first men’s TCU runner to qualify since 2010. Lagat ran a career-best time of 29:33.5 to cross the finish line and earn an auto-bid as an individual and finished seventh overall and earn All-Region Honors. Prior to arriving in Fort Worth, he spent four years at Vanderbilt in the same role. During the 2023 cross country season, Porter led the women’s cross country team to a seventh place finish, its best since his coming to Vanderbilt. Two Dores, Jackson Scruggs and Colette Kinsella, were top-15 freshman finishers at the NCAA Cross Country South Region Championships. During the 2024 indoor season, Porter guided Julia Rosenberg to qualifying for the NCAA East First Round in the 1,500 meters and breaking the school records in the 1,000 and 3,000 meters indoors and 5,000 meters outdoors. In her first-ever 10,000-meter race, Bria Bennis, coaches by Porter, scored at the SEC Championships. With his coaching, Emma Curry and Audrey Allman and Rosenberg contributed to Vanderbilt’s bronze medal-winning performance in the distance medley relay at the SEC Indoor Championships. Under his guidance, three Frogs qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship meet and TCU swept the javelin titles at the Big 12 Outdoor Conference Championship meet. Freshman Preston Kuznof broke the men's school record on his first collegiate attempt, launching a 75.10m throw. He won the Big 12 title in the Javelin throw and wrapped up his season with a 20th place result at the national meet. On the women's side, Irene Jepkemboi broke her own school record and Kenyan national record with a bronze medal performance at the NCAA Championship meet (60.31m). She successfully defended her Big 12 title as well, finishing as one of three Frogs on the podium. Senior Maria Bienvenu closed out her collegiate career with Second Team All-American honors, a 14th place finish at the NCAA Outdoor meet and a bronze medal at the Big 12 Championships. In 2024 he helped guide TCU’s javelin duo to the NCAA Championship. Freshman Irene Jepkemboi earned First Team All-American honors as she finished fourth overall at NCAAs with her throw of 56.51m (185-4). She became TCU's first-ever All-American in the women's javelin in program history and was the Big 12 Champion in the event. During the 2025 season, Price was key in helping three men's jumpers secure All-big 12 honors. At the indoor championship meet, freshman triple jumper Jamitrius Jessie leaped 14.97m (49 1-½) to secure fifth overall, while Coulaj Eans (long jump) recorded a new season best of 7.51m to win a bronze medal and Damilare Olukosi (triple jump) took home bronze with a jump of 15.80m at the outdoor conference meet. On the women's side, he mentored Alleah Krote to the No. 4 indoor (12.85m) and No. 6 outdoor (12.64m) triple jump marks in program history. In his first season with the Frogs, he helped the long and triple jumpers to a strong campaign. In the women's long jump, Emma Seetoo's leap of 6.08m (19-11.50) was good for seventh at the Big 12 Championship, earning her a spot on the podium. Named the USTFCCCA Women's South Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020, Price most recently comes to Fort Worth after spending the past two seasons at USC. He had a stellar two years with the Trojans, highlighted five First-Team NCAA All-Americans, 14 NCAA West Regional Qualifiers and and 17 All-Pac-12 Student-Athletes. Tyronne Edgar joined TCU's coaching staff in the Fall of 2022. He coaches the sprinters and serves as the recruiting coordinator for both programs. In 2025, Edgar took the TCU sprints program to new heights, leading his athletes to nine All-American honors and 10 Big 12 Medals led by Indoor 200m National Champion Indya Mayberry. The freshman shined sweeping the 60m and 200m at the Big 12 Indoor Championship Meet and the 100m and 200m at the Outdoor Championship Meet. She was named High Point Performer at both and collected Women's Indoor Performer of the Year and Women's Outstanding Freshman (Indoor and Outdoor) honors. She was also named to the Watchlist for The Bowerman after posting the No. 2 indoor 200m time (22.30) in U.S. History. The TCU women's 4x100m of Teanna Harlin, Iyana Gray, London Tucker and Mayberry all collected first team All-American honors after finishing fourth overall (42.97) at the national meet, marking the Frogs' best finish in the even since 2007. Gray and Mayberry also garnered second team All-American honors in the 100m. On the men's side, Senior Kashie Crockett also earned a pair of All-American honors, finishing 11th and 12th overall Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Championship meet, respectively.
