Biography

Doug Murray enters his fourth season as assistant coach, seventh overall at Air Force in 2025. Murray joined the staff after serving two seasons as the Falcons’ volunteer assistant coach. Since joining the Falcons' staff, Murray has helped guide Air Force to a share of the regular season ASUN title in 2024, three top-three finishes with three conference tournament appearances, highlighted by a visit to the ASUN Championship against top-seed Utah in 2023. Murray has had a hand in 29 all-conference selections highlighted by conference Defensive Player of the Year in Brandon Jones (2019) and Freshman of the Year in Turner Ashby (2024). Murray's efforts also helped Air Force to their first victory over legendary head coach Bill Tierney’s Denver Pioneers in 2023, marking Tierney’s first-ever loss to Air Force. In his inaugural year with the Air Force staff, Murray helped the 2019 Falcons back to their winning ways, coaching goalies and man down defense while assisting with the overall defense. Air Force’s 2019 defense was No. 1 in the nation in goals against average, a mark that garnered NCAA D1 statistical champion status. He played an integral role in the Falcons going 10-5 on the season with a 6-1 mark in Southern Conference play, reaping the team’s third regular-season league title in four seasons with the conference.
