Former DU men's lacrosse stand out Matt Brown joined the Pioneers' coaching staff in 2007 as the volunteer assistant coach and has since moved from assistant coach to associate head coach and is now the program's William G. Tierney Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, effective July 2023. Brown will enter his second season in charge of the program in 2025. In his first season in charge of a program that he's spent nearly all of his adult life with, Brown led the Pioneers back to Championship Weekend for the first time since 2017, defeating Michigan and Syracuse en-route to punching its ticket to Philadelphia. The Pios opened the season with a win at No. 6 Johns Hopkins (13-12 OT), its first of three wins against the No. 6 team in the country during the 2025 season. Denver raced out to a 5-0 record to start the season before its first set back against Yale. DU responded with a win at Ohio State before a neutral site loss to Duke before going 5-0 in conference play to win the program's first BIG E

Longtime offensive coordinator, and winner of seven National Championships, David Metzbower will enter his second season with the Pioneers in 2025. Prior to Denver, Metzbower most notably was on staff at North Carolina, Loyola and Princeton. Overall in his 37-year career, Metzbower has combined for a 416-170 record, has made 25 NCAA Tournament appearances, 20 visits to the NCAA Quarterfinals, 13 trips to Championship Weekend, nine Memorial Day clashes and seven national championships. In his first season in the Mile High City, Metzbower helped lead the Pioneers back to Championship Weekend for the first time since 2017, defeating Michigan and Syracuse en-route to punching its ticket to Philadelphia. Metzbower was the offensive coordinator at North Carolina from the 2015 season through the 2023 campaign, including his last seven seasons serving as the program's associate head coach.

Former Pioneer captain Jack DiBenedetto joined the program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season, and will enter his second campaign with the Pios in 2026. In his first campaign on the Pios coaching staff, DiBenedetto helped defensive coordinator John Gallant with the Denver defense, and aided in skill instruction and recruiting. DiBenedetto also managed the Pioneers substitution box. DiBenedetto currently plays professionally in the PLL for the Philadelphia Waterdogs. As a student-athlete, he played and started in 70 career games at close defense during his five seasons with the Crimson and Gold. He pulled in 74 ground balls and forced 58 caused turnovers, with his 58 caused turnovers ranking second in Denver's DI history.

University of Denver men's lacrosse assistant coach John Gallant will begin his sixth season with the program in 2025. Gallant filled the defensive coordinator position following the departure of John Orsen after the 2019 season, and was retained when head coach Matt Brown took over after Bill Tierney's retirement in 2023. Gallant was a two-time captain for the Colorado Mammoth, and wore the 'A' on his chest in two other campaigns during his 14-year National Lacrosse League career. A member of the Mammoth's All-Decade Team in 2012, Gallant moved with the franchise from Washington to Colorado in 2002, completing his career with a single franchise. In his career, the Mammoth defenseman played in 209 games, scored 14 goals and added 86 assists for 100 points. The 2001 Lake Superior State graduate directed the Colorado Collegiate Box Lacrosse League player combine and served as a guest coach for multiple franchises.
