Updated March 24, 2026 Robinson's Records (through 2025-26 season): Career (4 years): 84-56 UNT (1 year): 19-14 Daniyal Robinson was hired on April 4, 2025 and became North Texas' 20th head men's basketball coach. In his first season as the Mean Green's head coach in 2025-26, Robinson was tasked with replacing the entire North Texas roster. The Mean Green were one of six teams in the country that season that did not return a single scholarship or walk-on from the previous season. Furthermore, UNT was challenged four games into the season when senior guard and leading scorer Will McClendon suffered a season ending knee injury. Robinson led UNT to a 19-14 overall record and a 9-9 conference record. North Texas finished in a tie for fifth-place in the American Conference standings and reached the quarterfinal round of the 2026 American Conference Championship. The Mean Green won 18 regular season games in Robinson's first year. It was the most regular season wins by a first-year North Texas head coach since Bill Blakeley in 1976 — 50 years ago. Robinson led North Texas to nine conference wins in his first season, the second-most ever by a first-year UNT head coach. Prior to arriving in Denton, Johnsen spent the previous two seasons at Cleveland State with Robinson. Johnsen also has stops at Dayton, University of Miami, Georgetown and Ransom Everglades High School and Gulliver Prep High School in Miami, Florida. Johnsen has certifications in C.S.C.S., NASM-PES, USAWL1, and FMS. He received his master's in exercise physiology from the University of Miami in 2013 after receiving his bachelor's in 2012 from Miami and his A.S. in sports medicine from ICCC in 2010.

Associate Athletic Trainer (Men's Basketball/Spirit Squads)

Stuart Plamp was hired by UNT Athletics as an associate athletic trainer in July of 2025 and is the head athletic trainer for the Mean Green men's basketball program. Prior to joining North Texas, Plamp worked as a field service representative at Matric Orthopedics and Enovis in Dallas. Plamp has connections to The American Conference as he worked at the University of Tulsa as an assistant director for sports medicine and its insurance coordinator from Sept. 2022 until April 2024. At Tulsa, Plamp was the lead athletic trainer for the Golden Hurricane men's basketball team. Before working at Tulsa, he was an assistant athletic trainer and worked in the concussion office at SMU from 2021 through 2022. With the Mustangs, Plamp provided care for the women's rowing team. Prior to his time at Tulsa and SMU, the Louisville native worked for three years at the University of Louisville as an assistant athletic trainer where he covered women's rowing from 2017 through 2020. He also assisted in management of chiropractic services to the Cardinals' athletic department. From 2016 through 2017, Plamp served as an assistant athletic trainer at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. While working with the Islanders, he served as the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team and also assisted with developing and implementing a new mental health emergency action plan and procedures for the athletic department.
