Salima Rockwell (Davidson), a four-time national champion coach and three-time All-American, was named the seventh head coach in Notre Dame volleyball history, University Vice President and James E. Rohr Director of Athletics Jack Swarbrick announced January 6th, 2022. Rockwell heads into her fifth year at the helm of the program after finishing her first four seasons with a record of 45-66. “We’re excited to have Salima join the Notre Dame family,” said University vice president and James E. Head volleyball coach Salima Rockwell announced the addition of Craig Dyer to her coaching staff Monday morning. Dyer brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Notre Dame, spending the past four seasons at Creighton, with previous stops at Penn State, Pittsburgh, Marquette, Seton Hall and Rutgers. “I cannot express my level of excitement in welcoming Craig Dyer to the Notre Dame Volleyball family as our Associate Head Coach.” Rockwell said, “There are few coaches who possess strengths in all aspects of the job, but Craig is one of those few. He is an excellent trainer and he is phenomenal in the gym. He has a brilliant mind for the game which makes him an expert in scouting opponents, and he has established himself as one of the best recruiters in the country. The University of Notre Dame head volleyball coach Salima Rockwell announced the addition of Sara Kidd to her staff Monday afternoon. Kidd comes to South Bend after spending the past five seasons as the head coach at the University of Delaware, and will be an associate head coach for the Irish. “I am beyond excited to welcome Sara Kidd to the Notre Dame family.” said Rockwell, “She has proven herself as a recruiter, a trainer and a well-respected coach in the volleyball community. Sara has made an immediate impact in every program that she has been a part of in her coaching career. As a former player herself, she knows exactly what student-athletes are going through and what we are trying to accomplish as a program at Notre Dame.
