Ted Banks Director of Track & Field And Cross Country
USC Alum, Olympic great and 2025 NCAA Men's Coach of the Year Quincy Watts is in his fifth season at the helm of the program. He was promoted to USC Director of Track and Field and Cross Country on June 17, 2021 after eight seasons on Caryl Smith Gilbert’s staff as an assistant in charge of sprints, long hurdles and relays. In his 12 seasons working with USC athletes, he has guided the Trojans to two NCAA Team Championship titles and 160 indoor and outdoor All-American honors. His Trojan athletes also claimed 24 NCAA event titles and 46 conference crowns. He led his student-athletes to set three collegiate records and 32 school records plus all four USC freshman 400-meter records and the women's 400-meter hurdles freshman record. In addition to 2025 NCAA Men's Coach of the Year recognition, Watts also received honors as 2025 NCAA West Region Men's & Women's Coach of the Year. At the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, Watts won his first team title on the men’s side and coached Dajaz Defrand to the Indoor 60m Championship title. He achieved back-to-back team titles at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships where the men took home the title and the women earned runner-up. He also produced two NCAA Outdoor Champions with Samirah Moody taking the 100m outdoor title and the women's 4x100 relay team placing first. Assistant Coach for Distance and Cross Country
Olympian Brenda Martinez enters her first season as the Assistant Coach for Distance and Cross Country following the announcement of her hiring on July 15, 2025. Martinez brings a wealth of experience as a professional athlete and coach. On the coaching side, Martinez created the Big Bear Track Club back in 2014. Through this group, she developed post-collegiate athletes into world-class runners. Some of the athletes she worked with through this organization included 2016 Olympian and World Champion Boris Berian, World Indoor qualifier Jenna Westaway, USATF Indoor finalist Olicia Williams, and two-time Olympic Trials qualifier Dusty Solis. Along with her coaching experience, Martinez also competed professionally, representing Team USA on six occasions. She was a part of Team USA for the 2016 Olympic Games and made five IAAF World Championship appearances, including a second-place finish at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in the 800. During her professional career, she put up career-bests of 1:57.91 in the 800 and 4:00.94 in the 1500. She signed her contract with Team New Balance in 2010 and competed with them until 2023. Currently, she sits on the Athlete Advisory Board for New Balance. Before her professional career, the Rancho Cucamonga native competed for the Highlanders of UC Riverside. USC Track and Field welcomed Noah Keeter as the Director of Operations in January 2026. Keeter comes from Louisiana State University where he served as an Assistant Director of Football Operations starting in March 2025. Prior to LSU, Keeter was a graduate assistant at the University of Florida within athletic operations and facilities where he worked primarily with football as a liaison for visiting teams and served as the assistant game manager for several sports. Keeter got his start in athletic operations as an undergraduate at Florida where he earned his B.A. in Political Science and a M.S. in Sport Management. Keeter was a Division I football student-athlete for four seasons, earning a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Tatyana Obukhova McMahon is in her 18th season (2008-25) at USC as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
