Head Coach
Casey Moon is in his 18th year on the USC staff and is entering his second season as USC’s full-time women’s head coach. He has helped the Women of Troy win five NCAA titles since coming to USC in 2007, just a year before the Trojan men began their six-year run of national championships. Moon also served as interim head coach for the USC women during the 2019 season, going 9-2 in that role while helping the Trojans win the MPSF Tournament Championship and reach the 2019 NCAA final. Moon’s first season on the USC women’s coaching staff was 2008, and he has been in a coaching role with the Women of Troy throughout his tenure. An assistant coach for the USC men and women for his first eight years, Moon served as the USC men’s director of player personnel and as the USC women’s associate head coach from 2015-2018. In fall 2019, Moon moved into a dual role as associate head coach for the USC men’s and women’s teams, taking on full-time associate head coach duties for the USC women in 2021-22. He then served in the same role for the USC men and women until being named the USC women’s head coach in June 2023. In all, Moon has been on the USC staff for six men’s NCAA championship runs (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2018) and five NCAA titles by the women (2010, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2021). Assistant Coach
Carlee Kapana enters her first season as an assistant coach for USC women’s water polo staff. Kapana brings elite playing experience, a championship mindset, and a deep knowledge of defensive and goalkeeper play. A standout goalkeeper at UCLA, Kapana leaves one of the most decorated careers in program history and now brings her passion for mentoring and athlete development to the Trojan family. During her four-year career at UCLA, Kapana established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and on the national stage. She finished her career with 723 total saves, ranking third all-time on UCLA’s career chart. Kapana also gained international experience representing the USA Junior National Team at the 2017 FINA Junior World Championships and was part of youth national teams that captured titles at world and Pan American competitions. An alum of Newport Harbor High School, Kapana served as an assistant coach for the Sailors from 2019-2025. With Newport Beach Water Polo Club, she served as an assistant coach for 18-, 16-, and 14-under girls teams, and helped guide the 16-unders to a gold medal at the 2025 Junior Olympics. She also helped lead the 14-unders to two gold medals (2023 and 2025) and one silver medal (2024) at the Junior Olympics. Kapana has also served as a graduate assistant for both the men’s and women’s water polo teams at Concordia University for the past three years (2023-2025).

Assistant Coach
Christopher Lee enters his first season as an assistant coach for the USC women’s water polo program. He comes to USC directly from time spent working with USA Water Polo, and also boasts 14 years of collegiate coaching experience with teams that amassed eight NCAA appearances. Most recently, Lee helped Pomona-Pitzer win the 2023 Division III National Championship. He also is familiar with the MPSF landscape, having served as an assistant coach at Cal and UCLA during his tenure. At the college club level, Lee helmed Penn’s men’s and women’s club teams, helping his alma mater make a combined five National Collegiate Club Championship appearances. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Lee has played key roles with the U.S. women’s national teams on staff for four Olympic Games and numerous World Aquatics Championships and Pan American Games. In the coaching realm, Lee has been active on deck for U.S. women’s Development, Cadet and ODP Zone teams. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lee earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Penn in 2004. He also earned a master’s degree in architecture from Penn in 2008. He competed in water polo as a member of Penn’s club team.
