Assistant Coach
Sean Doyle will begin his fourth year as an assistant with the Utes in 2025, working primarily as Utah’s defensive coordinator. Doyle has been a part of the staff that has won three straight ASUN regular season titles as well as back-to-back ASUN Championships. Utah's recent success also led the Utes to two straight NCAA Tournament appearances (2023, 2024). In 2024, Utah's defense ranked highly in the ASUN and nationally with Doyle seeing two defensemen landing on the All-ASUN first-team. Utah's defense ranked No. 3 in the ASUN in scoring defense, also ranking No. 2 in ground balls per game. He saw All-ASUN first-team selections Nikko DiPonio and Joey Boylston rank in the top-15 nationally and top-three in the ASUN in caused turnovers per game, which included DiPonio leading the conference and ranking No. 7 in the country with 2.12 per game. Doyle coached DiPonio to earn Inside Lacrosse All-America in 2024 after he broke the school records for single-game (6) and single-season (35) caused turnovers. He also saw the Utes earn their first-ever berth into the NCAA Championships in 2023 after Utah won a program-high 12 games (12-5). For the second straight season, Utah led the ASUN in ground balls per game (37.24), also ranking fourth nationally. Utah also ranked second in the league in caused turnovers per game in 2023 (8.29).
