Theo Edwards opens his fourth season as CSUN’s head men’s volleyball coach in 2026 after completing a historic third season in 2025. Edwards, CSUN’s associate head coach since 2019, was named the successor to Jeff Campbell in 2022. He owns a 43-43 overall record in three seasons as head coach. This past season, Edwards led CSUN to an 18-11 overall record and No. 9 national ranking, CSUN's best final ranking since 2018. In his three seasons, Edwards has also led the Matadors to the semifinal round of the 2024 Outrigger Big West Championship last season, the furthest the Matadors have advanced in the postseason since 2018. CSUN finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 18-11 and was ranked in the AVCA National Collegiate Poll in all 19 polls during the season. The Matadors were ranked as high as No. 7 for three straight weeks (Mar. 3-17). After concluding the season with a heartbreaking five-set loss to No. 4 UC Irvine in the Quarterfinals of the Outrigger Big West Men's Volleyball Championship, the Matadors would finish the season ranked ninth. During the 2025 season, CSUN steadily climbed in the rankings, culminating with a 12-2 record and a No. 7 national ranking on Mar. 3. That marked the highest national ranking for the Matadors since also ranking seventh on Jan. 15, 2018. Bryan Bran opens his second season working with the CSUN Men's Volleyball program in 2026. Bran joined the CSUN women's volleyball program as an assistant coach and technical coordinator prior to the 2024 season, and spent the 2025 season in a similar role with the Matador men's team. Bran has spent numerous years working in the collegiate game. He spent two seasons (2022-23) as an assistant coach at Pasadena City College and also worked as a volunteer assistant coach at UC Davis in 2021-22. He also spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons as a student manager for the women's team at Saint Mary's College in Moraga. He also currently serves as technical coordinator for the San Diego Mojo of the Pro Volleyball Federation. Bran played varsity volleyball at Van Nuys High School before moving on to LA Pierce College in Woodland Hills. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in education from Saint Mary's College in 2020.

Ryan Mason opens his fourth season as the top assistant coach for CSUN Men's Volleyball in 2026. A former Matador student-athlete, Mason returned to the CSUN bench as an assistant under head coach Theo Edwards in 2023. In Mason's three seasons since returning to CSUN, the Matadors have won 43 matches over that span. Mason has also been instrumental in CSUN's impressive recruiting efforts over the past three seasons. Mason began his collegiate coaching career with the CSUN men in 2018, joining Jeff Campbell's staff as second assistant , working alongside Edwards. He helped guide the Matadors to a 16-11 record in 2018 while earning their first Big West Tournament win, knocking off UC Santa Barbara in five sets. As a CSUN student-athlete, Mason was a part of the CSUN men's volleyball program as a setter from 2010-15. He redshirted his freshman season in 2012 before appearing in four matches and six sets in 2013, primarily as a serving specialist, and recorded a pair of digs. Mason had one dig against BYU and one at UC Irvine as the Matadors finished 11-13 overall and 9-13 in the MPSF in 2013. Mason got his first taste of coaching at the club level, serving as head coach of the Supernova All-Stars Volleyball Club where he worked with the girls 15's and 18's squads, leading his team to a 15-1 record in 2014-15 before a 16-1 mark in 2017-18.
