Riley Campbell enters his first season as an assistant coach and third as the director of operations heading into the 2025-26 season with the Utah cross country and track & field programs. In his two seasons, the Women of Utah have qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships both times. Meanwhile, the DMR team ran the sixth-fastest time in NCAA history (all-conditions) before finishing fifth at the NCAA Indoor Championships to earn All-America honors in 2024-25. That same success carried over to the outdoor season where Utah saw a record number of qualifiers compete at NCAA West Regionals in 2025. That campaign culminated with McKaylie Caesar and Morgan Jensen becoming Utah’s first duo to compete in the 10000m at NCAA Championships while the 4x100m relay squad competed at the championships for the first time in program history. Campbell arrived in SLC with a great deal of experience after spending four seasons (2019-23) at Gonzaga where he served as an assistant coach. While in Spokane, Wash., Campbell worked primarily with the men’s program assisting the head coach with workout preparation, instructions and meetings. In addition to his coaching duties, he also managed the operational side planning travel and recruiting visits along with administrative responsibilities.
