West Virginia University Mixed Rifle

Chris Coombs joined the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in February of 2023, where he serves as an Assistant Director of Athletics Communications and the primary contact for the WVU women's basketball and rifle teams. Coombs previously served as the Sports Information Director at Lindsey Wilson College, an NAIA institution, in Columbia, Kentucky. He joined the Lindsey Wilson staff in 2017 where he served as a Sports Information Intern before moving into the program's assistant SID role. He worked as the department's assistant for three years beginning in the fall of 2018 before taking over as the head of the department in 2021. During his tenure with Lindsey Wilson, Coombs helped lead the communication efforts for one NAIA football national championship (2020) and one NAIA volleyball national championship (2017). A Warren, Pennsylvania native, Coombs was responsible for managing the communication efforts for twenty-six varsity sports. His department accrued fifteen national honors from the annual NAIA-SIDA Media and Publications Contest for his work on graphics, feature stories, feature videos and media game note packets at Lindsey Wilson. Coombs earned his bachelor's in sport management and a bachelor's in journalism from Miami of Ohio University and his master's degree in sports management from Cumberland University.

Corie Apodaca joined Mountaineer athletics in June 2023 as associate director of sports marketing. In this role, she is the direct sports marketing contact for women's basketball and volleyball and oversees the Mountaineer Kids Club. In 2025, Apodaca was promoted to director of digital marketing and revenue strategy. Apodaca deals primarily with direct digital marketing initiatives for WVU Athletics. She leads the charge in creating paid social media ads, mobile app developments and Google ads. Apodaca has been involved in the department's renewed initiatives to drive season ticket sales for WVU's ticketed sporting events. Apodaca also manages the strategy and execution of all email marketing and marketing automation across all WVU sports. Her initiatives produced over $2.4 million in ticket revenue in 2024, and saw a 60% year-over-year increase in open rate across all email marketing and marketing automation. In her role with the women's basketball and volleyball programs, Apodaca helped double season ticket sales for the women's basketball program for the 2024-25 season, and increased total attendance by 40% for the 2023-24 season. With volleyball, Apodaca increased attendance by 19% per game during the 2024 season. Apodaca comes to WVU after serving as Long Beach State's associate sports marketing director where she oversaw baseball, women's volleyball and women's basketball. Hailee Settle serves as the primary athletics trainer for the gymnastics and rifle teams after joining West Virginia University athletics in January 2021. Her current role includes the day-to-day care, rehabilitation and injury prevention for athletes in those specific sports. Settle arrived at WVU after fulfilling a one-year internship as an athletic trainer for Florida's men's and women's track & field and cross country teams. She also acted as the host athletic trainer during the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championships. Prior to her time at Florida, Settle spent two years as a graduate assistant for the men's and women's tennis teams at Oklahoma State. She also spent three years as a TCU athletic training student and worked with several of the Horned Frog teams, including football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's track & field. Settle also worked several postseason events for the TCU baseball and tennis teams. A native of Burleson, Texas, Settle earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from TCU in 2017. She received her master's degree from OSU in 2019 in applied exercise science and completed her doctorate of athletic training from A.T. Still University in 2025.

Jeremy Lannon joined Mountaineer Athletics in February 2022 as an academic counselor in charge of student-athlete development for rowing, tennis and rifle. Since 2015, Lannon has been an advisor in WVU's Center for Learning and Advising and Student Success, specializing in pre-majors and exploratory students. He also taught a first-year seminar course WVUE 191. The Gainesville, Florida, native has advising experience at Santa Fe College in Gainesville after serving a two-year graduate assistantship at the University of West Florida from 2012-14. He earned a B.S. in sport management with a minor in Spanish in 2010 from WVU, and received his master's degree from West Florida in student personnel administration in 2014. He currently resides in Morgantown with his wife, Colleen, and their sons, C.J. and Cal.

Tanner Kolb joined the Mountaineer athletic staff in August 2012, and was named Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning in December 2017. Kolb handles the strength and conditioning responsibilities for rifle, men's soccer and wrestling. In May of 2021, Kolb was named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). The honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. He arrived at West Virginia in 2012 after a one-year stint at East Carolina as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, where he designed and implemented specific programs for baseball, volleyball and tennis, as well as assisting with football. Prior to his tenure at East Carolina, Kolb spent three years as the head strength coach and adjunct professor at Waynesburg. While at Waynesburg, Kolb worked to design and implement programs in all sports, as well as teaching four classes. A native of Pittsburgh, Kolb turned in two stints as a prep strength and conditioning coach at Perry High (Okla.) in the summer of 2004, as well as Petoskey High (Mich.) and Charlevoix High (Mich.) from 2006-08. There, he contributed time at Northern Michigan Sports Medicine while lecturing and directing powerlifting and strongman competitions. Zach Eckert has served in the WVU Athletic Department since 2009, including roles as Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations (2009-14) and Associate Director of Facilities/Operations (2014-16). As Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Operations, Eckert manages game day operations for men's basketball, women's soccer, and wrestling, as well as day-to-day facility oversight for swimming and diving, rowing, and rifle. He also oversees asset management, camp operations, and various event/facility related contracts. Eckert is the sport administrator for rifle. A Gettysburg, Pa., native, Eckert graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2008. He received his master's degree in sport management from West Virginia University in 2009, while also working as a graduate assistant for athletic facilities. Eckert, his wife Melissa and daughters Savannah and Makenna, reside in Morgantown.
